More than 25 years ago, I bought one of your fungo bats as a Father's Day gift for my dad when he was coaching my brother and me. He absolutely loved it. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of him hitting us ground balls, fly balls, and spending countless hours helping us put in the extra work.
I wanted to share a story with your team.
To him, that fungo represented something special. It was a rite of passage—from swinging a kid's aluminum bat to having a real coach's fungo in his hands. It made him feel official, and he truly was. He poured his time, energy, and passion into helping young players improve and fall in love with the game.
A few years ago, when my oldest son started playing baseball, my dad brought that same fungo bat over to my house and told me it was time to put it back to work.
Today, both of my boys are completely obsessed with the game. I use that fungo almost every day, hitting them grounders and fly balls in the backyard, at practices, and on the field. I also use it to work with players across the four teams my boys play on.
The bat is worn, weathered, and even cracked in places, but it keeps going. Its durability has been tested beyond belief through decades of use and three generations of baseball players. Somehow, it continues to help kids push their limits, improve their skills, and build the same love for the game that my dad helped instill in me.
Thank you for making something that has become much more than a piece of equipment. It's become a family heirloom and a small but meaningful part of our baseball story.
Thank you for this fine piece of equipment you provided as now it’s legendary.
